GEOMETRICS

See Geometrics at the SSA conference in Washington

Geometrics will be attending the Seismological Society of America (SSA) conference from April 19-23 in Bellevue, Washington. Koichi Hayashi is staffing our Booth 13 and will have on display both the Geometrics Atom 1-C and Atom 3-C wireless seismographs.

Dr. Hayashi is an expert in seismic hazard assessment and has spent years using seismic techniques to evaluate site conditions around the world, including at many existing dam and levee sites. You can read some of his work on the Dam Safety Group’s website under the Geometrics Technical information Resources tab.

At this year’s SSA he will also be speaking in the Site Response Characterization in Seismic Hazard Analysis session on April 22, 2022. His talk focuses on work he has been performing in California’s Napa Valley and is called Three-dimensional S-wave Velocity Model of Napa, California Obtained from Microtremor Array Measurements and Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio. You can access his abstract here.

You can find Dr. Hayashi in Booth 13, call by and talk to him about using the Atom for site characterization or about any of the Geometrics seismic software packages.

The SSA 2022 Annual Meeting is its first in-person gathering since 2019 and will convene at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, featuring more than 750 technical oral and poster presentations, plenary sessions, workshops, special interest groups and field trips focusing on the advancement of earthquake science.
