GSSI

GSSI’s ground penetrating radar equipment is used around the world for dam inspections and assessments

The GSSI 900 MHz antenna is designed for applications requiring shallow penetration down to 1m (3 ft), including void detection, concrete thickness assessment and shallow pipe location.

It can also be used for location of rebar where space is not limited. This antenna is compatible with the GSSI SIR 4000 and SIR 30 control units.

This customized set up involved a 900MHz antenna enclosed in waterproof housing and attached to a remote-controlled submarine. Multiple scans were taken along the length of the underground culvert looking for voids behind the structure.  (Image courtesy of Murphy Geospatial)
